The present invention relates to a method and a medicament for pharmacologicaltreatment of accidental extravasation of topoisomeraseII poisons such as anthracyclines. In particular, the invention relates to theuse of a topo II catalytic inhibitor such as the bisdioxopiperazineICRF-187 for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of anaccidental extravasation of a topoisomerase II poison and a methodfor treatment of such extravasation of a topoisomerase poison such as theanthracyclines daunorubicin, doxorubicin, epirubicin, or idarubicin.In addition, the invention relates to a kit for such treatment.
