An experimental study is carried out on emergency treatment of source water that accidentallypolluted by Cr(VI)and Cd.The methods of using ferrous sulfate for Cr(VI)removal and increasing pH value of source water or adding sodium carbonate for Cd removal are proposed respectively.based on the evaluation of the removal effects by current treatment process.When Cr(VI)concentration in source water is 0.10-2.00 mg/L,the corresponding dosage of ferrous sulfate is 3.0-16.0 mg/t,and the toNal amount of Cr(VI)in treated water is decreased below 0.02mg/L.It is proved that the removal rate of Cd can reach 90.0%when the pH value of source water is 9.0.Adding sodium carbonate can not only change pH value of water,but also promote the production of cadmium carbonate and cadmium’hydroxide.which enhance Cd removal effect to some degree.
