A pharmaceutical composition for parenteral administration, comprisingliposomes composed of non-charged vesicle-forming lipids, including up to 20mole percent of an amphipathic vesicle-forming lipid derivatised withpolyethyleneglycol, and optionally including not more than 10 mole percent ofnegatively charged vesicle-forming lipids, the liposomes having a selectedmean particle diameter in the size range between about 40-200 nm andcontaining a water soluble corticosteroid for the site-specific treatment ofinflammatory disorders, is provided.
