A nonwoven fabric of polyester composite fiberswhich has a satisfactory color tone (low value of b*).It is formed from short composite fibers obtained from apolyester polymer obtained with the following catalystand a fusion-bondable polymer. The catalyst comprises:(1) a mixture of a phosphorus compound ingredientcomprising a phosphorus compound represented by theformula (III) with a titanium compound ingredientcomprising a titanium alkoxide represented by thefollowing formula (I) and/or a product of the reaction ofthe titanium alkoxide with a carboxylic acid representedby the formula (II) or anhydride thereof; and/or (2) aproduct of the reaction of a phosphorus compoundingredient comprising a phosphorus compound representedby the formula (V) with a titanium compound ingredientcomprising a titanium alkoxide (IV) represented by theformula (IV) and/or a product of the reaction of thetitanium alkoxide with a carboxylic acid represented bythe formula (III) or anhydride thereof.(See Formula I);(See Formula II);(See Formula III);(See Formula IV);(See Formula V).
