The present invention concerns methods and compositions relating totranslucent matrix arrays. In certain embodiments, the arrays arereconfigurable. Reconfigurable arrays may be produced using small linkermolecules, such as aptamers or affibodies, which preferably bind to an IgGspecific portion of antibodies. Such arrays may be used to detect any targetthat binds selectively or specifically to an IgG. Translucent matrix arraysmay utilize cellophane, rayon or a translucent, colloidal form ofnitrocellulose to coat the substrate. Other embodiments concern methods ofdata analysis and apparatus for analyte detection. Certain embodiments concerna total optical assay device (TOADTM), which may be used with GRABBERTM slidesand/or FOOTPADTM microtiter well assay devices.
