There is provided methods for the prevention of dopaminergic cell death forneuroprotection and the prevention or slow down of progression of Parkinson'sdisease.Particularly, the invention relates to methods for protecting and/orpreventingdopaminergic cell death by the administration of a compound or agentinhibiting thetranslocation of Nur77 to the cytosol of dopaminergic cells.
