The current tools used by the Arthroscopic surgery are simple piecing devicesthat cannot tell the surgeon if a nerve injury is imminent. Our idea is to modify someprototypesof existing arthroscopic tools adding the potential of being made with electro-conductivematerials.Our idea is to remake these tools with a bare naked proximal, and distalelecro-conductivetips. The proximal tip will allow connection of the tool with the connectinginterface of a nerve stimulator cable. The distal one will get in contact withthe tissue.The tool shaft and handles shall be covered/ insolated with a non conductivematerial. Asthe tool is advanced by the surgeon though the tissue, an electro-conductiveArthroscopictool, will alert the surgeon if a nerve injury is imminent.Our idea is applicable to:1- Suture passers/ Hooks.2- Tissue dissector3- Probes4- Switching/sticks for arthroscopic cannulas5- Meniscal repair needles6- Arthroscopic Trocars7- Banana knives/basket scissors
