It is described a method for controlling the operation of awind farm (100) comprising a plurality of wind turbines (101-105).The described method comprises (a) defining a setpointvector, wherein each component of the setpoint vector representsan individual power setpoint of one of the plurality ofwind turbines (101-105), (b) determining a dependency matrix,which reflects a desired power generation distribution betweendifferent wind turbines (101-105) of the plurality ofwind turbines (101-105), (c) calculating a power referencevector by multiplying the dependency matrix with the setpointvector, such that the power reference vector comprises a coordinatedpower setpoint for each wind turbine (101-105), and(d) controlling the operation of the wind farm (100) based onthe calculated power reference vector. It is further describeda superordinate control system, a wind farm, a computer-readablemedium and a program element, which areadapted for performing and/or for controlling the above describedwind farm operation control method.
