The invention relates to methods for controlling, monitoring and optimizing the parameters of a hydraulic fracture in a stratum. The method comprises the following steps: a) firstly producing a matrix of interdependency between a plurality of starting parameters regarding the stratum, pumping-in operation and fracture and a predicted increase in the trajectory of the hydraulic fracture in the stratum, b) initiating the hydraulic fracturing process of the stratum, c) measuring the actual starting parameters of the hydraulic fracture being formed, d) carrying out exploration and production in accordance with the matrix of the predicted increase in the trajectory of the fracture in dependence on the actual starting parameters of the fracture being formed, e) measuring the actual increase in the trajectory of the fracture being formed during the hydraulic fracturing process, f) comparing the actual increase in the trajectory of the fracture being formed with the predicted increase in the trajectory of the fracture, g) and, in the event of a divergence in said values, changing the actual starting parameters of the fracture being formed.
