Under this model of training of Elderly Care General Practice registrars, GP registrars will be based at nursing homes or aged care facilities permanently during their training. They will work and be located in nursing homes. Their location of study and work will be nursing homes permanently. The training of GP registrars in the nursing homes and aged care facilities will be carried out by Australian Institute of Ageing Pty Ltd. The institute shall conduct the training of GP registrars in aged care facilities and in nursing homes. The training shall take place in nursing homes five days a week including teaching all varieties of medical conditions seen in the elderly patients.
