The present invention relates to a method for detecting a target substance using selective aggregation of quantum dots. The present invention enables the presence of a target substance to be easily identified with the naked eye by a decrease in fluorescence, using a phenomenon whereby quantum dots selectively aggregate when the target substance is present, without pre-treatment, such as tagging a fluorescent substance to the target substance or to a probe substance and surface-processing nanoparticles. Therefore, as the method according to the present invention enables easy, rapid and low-cost detection of a target substance without using special analytical instruments, the method is very efficient. More specifically, as the method of the present invention used in analyzing single-nucleotide polymorphism in DNA enables rapid and efficient determination of the presence of single-nucleotide polymorphism by confirming that aggregation of quantum dots does not occur, the method can be usefully used in the diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases, and biological and medical research.
