PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LONG LAMINATED FILM ABSTRACT

A coating layer on a long film is conventionally formed by pressing a coating head against a surface of the long film running on two supporting guide rollers to apply a paint thereon. Such a process is liable to cause stripe-like irregularity in the coating layer. A long film (11) is nipped and driven by a pair of nip rollers (16)(17) and a second guide roller (13) at both edge portions (11c) in the breadth direction of the long film (11). The pair of the nip rollers (16)(17) is disposed so as to converge without coming into contact: the rotation axes (16a)(17a) intersect at an intersection point (18) at the downstream side of the running direction (15) of the long film (11). Thereby, a force (19) is applied to the long film (11) in the breadth direction, not only the force in the film running direction (15). The force (19) in the breadth direction works to broaden the long film (11). The force (19) applied in the breadth direction eliminates wrinkles in the long film (11).
