Layered product comprising a warp- or weft knitted terry fabric glued to a support web and method for its manufacture

A layered fabric assembly, comprises a warp or weft knit material (1) with loops (4) and an adhesive layer between it and a support. The knitted material has an interlacing of pillar stitch filaments or columns of stitches (2) and warps or rows of stitches (3). Each free knitted loop has two feet (5), and the filament (6) of one loop passes over the filament of another loop. The filament of one loop passes over the filament of a neighboring loop where their loop feet are common, so that the filament of every loop in the structure passes over another loop. The filament of a loop can also pass over the filament of a pillar stitch and/or a warp, offset from the loop feet. The dimensions of the two filament legs of a loop are sufficient for this loop to straddle the foot of another loop, in all the loops. On a plan view, the loops are at an angle to the lines of warps and wefts.
