The objective of the invention is to improve the monitoring of therapeutic antibodies in the treatment of serious illnesses (asthma, rheumatism, tumors). The aim of the invention is to find a determination method by means of which the free target (antigen) of a therapeutic antibody can be determined, regardless of the recovery immunoassay. A sandwich immunoassay is constructed, by means of which only the free target protein that was not bound by the therapeutic antibody directed against said target is determined (free target immunoassay). Areas of application of the invention are medical diagnostics, therapy control, and pharmacological research.
