The invention relates to a surgical device for making sutures for the walls of hollow organs and vessels, and which can be used in conventional or laparoscopic surgery. The sutures can be everted or inverted. Multiple embodiments are described, with the principle of the device being the use of clips that form a casing in which a thread is used as a lockable slide. The clips can be closed according to two modes, a sliding mode M1, where the thread remains moveable, and a mode M2 where the thread is totally locked. Alternating the clips on the walls of the organs to be sutured enables a loose overstitch to be made a first time, which can then be pulled and locked a second time. Depending on the organ, an everted suture for a vessel, for example, can be made by applying the clips to the inner surface of the walls. Conversely, for a wall of the digestive tract, the clips are applied to the outer surface to achieve an inverted suture.
