DIVERTER ARRANGED IN A BRANCH OF A TRANSPORTING PATH FOR LABORATORY SAMPLES IN AN ANALYTICAL LABORATORY

In order for a stream of laboratory samples arranged on sample holders to be divided up as quickly as possible in a diverter region, and also in order to create a diverter mechanism which takes up as little space as possible, in order to increase the flexibility of the conveying system and to reduce the amount of space required, the following is proposed: a diverter which is arranged in a branch of a transporting path (1) for laboratory samples in an analytical laboratory and is intended for controlling a flow of the laboratory samples guided in the transporting path (1) on sample holders (6, 7, 8) provided in a retaining portion with a magnetic material, wherein an adjusting wheel (4) which carries at least one magnet (5), and can be driven to rotate, is arranged in the branch such that, upon rotation of the adjusting wheel (4), the magnet (5) grips the retaining portion of the sample holder (6, 7, 8) and the sample holder (6, 7, 8) is thus transferred into the branch.
