Switch in a branch of a transport path for laboratory samples in an analytical laboratory

The switch has an actuating body (4) i.e. hand wheel, driven for rotation and supporting magnets (5) e.g. electromagnets, in a branch. The actuating body is arranged in such a manner that the magnets detect a holding section of sample holders (6-8) during rotation of the actuating body. The sample holders are transferred into the branch. The hand wheel is arranged in a section in which a lateral guide wall of a guide wall of a transport path (1) is broken for transferring the sample holders into the branch. A control selectively activates the switch and drives the actuating body.
