The present invention relates to a peptide produced from oysters by means of enzymatic processing, and more specifically relates to a peptide which can inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and which has an outstanding hypotensive ability. In particular, the peptide of the present invention can be widely employed in the industry in that it has an outstanding angiotensin-converting-enzyme-inhibiting ability and can treat or alleviate cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, and it has been confirmed to have an outstanding hypotensive ability in the results of measurements in actual animal experiments, and, additionally, in that it is guaranteed to be safe and it presents no problems of side effects since it is derived from oysters which are a foodstuff and hence it can substitute for prior-art artificial substances for the treatment or alleviation of cardiovascular diseases which have been produced chemically.
