The invention relates to a chemically stable hybrid catalytic system that includes nanoparticles of a non-functionalized inorganic polymer matrix comprised of silica, titanium or zirconia and that encapsulates at least one metal ion by direct interaction with the matrix. Said catalytic systems are useful in the synthesis of organic compounds, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, or the environmentally-friendly chemical processes characteristic of Green Chemistry.
