PURPOSE: A digital satellite broadcasting receiver and an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information receiving method using the receiver are provided to set EPG data of a sub unit through a main unit in a digital broadcasting receiver having multiple units. CONSTITUTION: A digital satellite broadcasting receiver includes a multi-switching unit(103), a main unit(110) and a plurality of sub units(120). The multi-switching unit divides an RF digital satellite broadcasting signal that has been received and low-noise-amplified into a plurality of signals and outputs the signals through respective paths. The main unit receives the plurality of satellite signals, tunes the signals to specific channels, demodulates the signals, descrambles the demodulated signals and outputs the descrambled signals, stores EPG information and transmits the EPG information at the request of a specific sub unit. The sub units are respectively installed in independent spaces and do not include a satellite tuner and CAS(Conditional Access System). The sub units receive stream signals of corresponding channels from the main unit, decode the received signals to display images corresponding to the decoded signals, and receive the EPG information from the main unit to search the EPG information.
