PURPOSE: A residual gas recovery apparatus and method for an LPG fuel tank of a vehicle are provided to discharge the residual fuel completely in repair or replacement of the fuel tank. CONSTITUTION: A residual gas recovery apparatus for an LPG fuel tank of a vehicle includes an inline external fuel pump(200), a recovery tank(300), a combustor(400), and a nitrogen tank(500). The fuel pump is connected to a fuel tank(100) of a vehicle in order to transfers fuel through the pipe. The recovery tank collects the fuel transferred by the inline external fuel pump through the pipe and stores it temporarily. The combustor is connected to the fuel tank pipe to burn the gas which remains in the fuel tank from which the fuel is collected into the recovery tank. The nitrogen tank is connected to the fuel tank and pressurizes nitrogen pressure into the fuel tank in order to transfer the residual gas to the combustor.
