Recognizing the Denomination of a Note Using Wavelet transform

The present invention relates to a method of recognizing the denomination of a note using wavelet transform, and more particularly, to a method of recognizing a note using a feature vector that is configured by preprocessing an inputted note image, such as detecting edges in the note image, performing wavelet transform for the preprocessed input image by a predetermined number of times, and comparing the magnitudes of the absolute values of wavelet coefficients with a reference value, in order to more correctly recognize the denomination of the note without being affected by entire or partial contamination of the note.
