PURPOSE: A method and a device for setting an initial radius of a sphere with a signal detecting method in a multi input multi output are provided to assign the most suitable fist sphere radius value, thereby reducing the calculation amount.;CONSTITUTION: A receiver receives a signal(S310). A sphere decoder determines a initial sphere radius value(S320). Through the determined sphere radius value, the sphere decoder searches a signal within the sphere radius value(S330). If detecting all signals is succeeded, the detection process is completed(S340). If detecting all signals is failed, the sphere decoder increases the size of a sphere radius.
