摘要
PURPOSE: A marker composition containing zinc finger protein 238 or gene encoding the same for distinguishing animal species is provided to minimize labor of comparing sequence difference between genes. CONSTITUTION: A marker composition for distinguishing animal species contains zinc finger 238 as an active ingredient. The zinc finger protein 238 has an amino acid sequence selected from sequence numbers 1-11. The animal is human, dog, pig, horse, lam, mouse, duck or chicken. The composition also contains a restriction enzyme, HhaI or HpyCH4IV. A method for distinguishing animal species comprises: a step of isolating genomic DNA from animal tissue; a step of amplifying DNA with a primer; and a step of cleaving the amplified product with the restriction enzyme.
