PURPOSE: A system and a method for checking and/or determining the state of a ship are provided to extend an anchoring interval according to the state of a ship. CONSTITUTION: A system(100) for checking and/or determining the state of a ship comprises a grid work(14) and a checking unit(20). The grid work comprises the sub-division part of an individual unit. The checking unit checks the state of the outer cover(12) of the ship and comprises an irradiating unit(22). The irradiating unit irradiates light to the outer cover of the ship. The individual unit comprises at least one assigning unit(18). The checking unit and the grid work functionally operate to check the state of the outer cover of the ship. The gird work, comprising the individual unit and the assigning unit, is converted into a value, which is measured by the checking unit.
