PURPOSE: An apparatus for collecting evidence and a method thereof are provided to improve evidence collecting performance by integrately or selectively performing a timestamp function and screen capture function.;CONSTITUTION: An online data collecting part(209) collects online data through a communication interface appointed by a user. A time stamping unit(211) applies a security hash function to the online data and generates a message digest. The time stamping part adds a timestamp corresponding to the creation time point of the message digest to the message digest.
