PURPOSE: A valve cap for a gate valve is provided to enable the position of the valve cap to be accurately found and to enable the key box of a valve key to be accurately inserted into the square head of the valve cap with temporary lighting.;CONSTITUTION: A valve cap(1) for a gate valve comprises an LED(17), a battery(25) and an impact sensing unit. A groove is formed on the top of the square head of the valve cap. The LED is formed in the groove. The battery can supply power to the LED. If the impact sensing unit applies impact to the valve cap, the power from the battery is supplied to the LED. If an operator strikes the square head of the valve cap with the key box of a valve key in controlling the gate valve, the square head of the valve cap emits light.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
