PURPOSE: A functional food additive for improving the immunity, and food containing thereof are provided to offer the high controlling effect on the infection of influenza viruses using a plant extract with the excellent safety. CONSTITUTION: A functional food additive for improving the immunity contains 100parts of red ginseng extract by weight, 25~35parts of angelica tenuissima extract by weight, 50~70parts of viscum album extract by weight, 5~25parts of glycyrrhiza uralensis extract by weight, and 7~13parts of propolis extract by weight. The extracts are obtained by a solvent selected from the group consisting of using purified water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, benzene, hexane, diethylether, dichloro methane, and their mixture.
