PURPOSE: A rapid-heating and -cooling mold assembly is provided to enhance heat insulating effect by the restricting of heat transfer between a core and a mold base even if an intermediate plate is formed from the same metallic material as the core and the mold base.;CONSTITUTION: A rapid-heating and -cooling mold assembly comprises a core(200), a mold base(100), and an intermediate plate(300). The core forms a cavity(250), which has a shape matched with that of a molded product. The mold base supports the core. The intermediate plate is located between the core and the mold base.
