PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing carbon nano-tubes is provided to secure average diameters between 9 and 12nm to the carbon nano-tubes using low-purity methane gas as a carbon source gas.;CONSTITUTION: Carbon nano-tubes are obtained by reacting a carbon source gas and a metal catalyst. The carbon source gas is based on 80-95 volume% of a methane gas. One or more gas selected from a group including ethane, propane, isopropane, butane, pentane, isopentane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and sulfuric compounds are additionally contained in the carbon source gas.
