TILTING PAD BEARING FLOATING SEAL STRUCTURE OF TURBINE ROTOR

PURPOSE: A tilting pad bearing sealing structure of a steam turbine rotor is provided to improve the performance of a tilting pad bearing and the stability of an axial system in a steam turbine rotor. CONSTITUTION: A tilting pad bearing sealing structure of a steam turbine rotor is as follows. A rotor axis(1) is covered with two separate casings(2). A tilting pad(4) moving up/down and right/left around a pivot(3) is installed close to the rotor axis inside the casings. Side covers(6) fitted with floating seals(5) are installed on the right and left sides of the casings, wherein the floating seals are installed by being moved in the axial direction of the rotor axis in order to form an oil dam(8) between the side covers and the floating seals and prevent damage to an abraded groove(7) caused by contact with the rotor axis.
