摘要

The purpose of this design guide is to present in a usable form, sufficient design information on self-acting, gas-lubricated, tilting-pad journal and thrust bearings to enable the successful ap¬plication of these types of bearings to high speed rotating equipment.nThis work was initiated for the specific purpose of developing gas-lubricated bearings for use in the rotor support system of closed-cycle gas turbines. However, the program and its re¬sults have since been generalized so that tilting-pad gas-lubricated bearings may be applied to many different kinds of shaft-rotor systems.
