PURPOSE: A nano-composite for platinum-free electrode catalyst is provided to obtain the superior electrode catalytic activity by combining silicon and catalytic particles on the surface of nano-tube and uniformly dispersing the nano-tube and nano-particles. CONSTITUTION: Nano-composite is obtained by combining gold-based nano-particles and silica particles on the sidewall of a multi-walled carbon nano-tube(MWNT). The MWNT is thiol-multifunctional MWNT(-SH), which functioning the surface of the MWNT with a thiol group. The MWNT(-SH) is mixed and stirred with a silica precursor solution. HAuCl_4 and HCL are added, and -ray is radiated.
