PURPOSE: A novel compound is provided to prevent or treat hypertension, arteriosclerosis, and bleeding heart failure.;CONSTITUTION: An olmesartan cilexetil is denoted chemical formula 1. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hypertension, breeding heart failure, or arteriosclerosis contains olmesartan cilexetil or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The pharmaceutical composition is solid or liquid formulation. The solid formulation is powder, granule, tablet, capsule, and suppository.
