PURPOSE: A flooding detection sensor using a piezoelectric element and a flooding detection method thereof are provided to reduce the manufacturing costs of the sensor by simplifying the structure of the sensor using a piezoelectric element.;CONSTITUTION: A flooding detection sensor using a piezoelectric element comprises a case(1), a piezoelectric element(2), an expansion member(3), a load actuating supporter(4), and an output signal cable(5). Multiple through holes(11) are formed on the top of the case. The piezoelectric element is formed on the top of the bottom surface of the case and senses flooding. The expansion member is arranged inside the case and is expanded by inhaling moisture. The load actuating supporter supports the bottom of the expansion member and transfers a load to the piezoelectric element. The output signal cable is connected to the piezoelectric element and transmits the flooding signal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
