PURPOSE: A method and system for orienting a disoriented image are provided to simplify the complexity of calculation and to calculate the probability of a Gaussian mixture model.;CONSTITUTION: A processing unit extracts a plurality of colors from an image. The processing unit determines whether the image is a forward direction based on discrimination features which are selected from a plurality of colors. The processing unit processes an image by using a Gaussian mixture model. The processing unit includes an extracting unit(155), a selecting unit(160), a probability module(165), and determining unit. The extracting unit extracts a plurality of colors and texture features from the image.
