PURPOSE: A human body detection apparatus and method thereof are provided to accurately detect the location of a specific body portion through texture energy measurement.;CONSTITUTION: A texture energy analysis unit(102) generates a texture energy map. A candidate interest region extractor(104) extracts a candidate interest region of a specific body portion. A candidate mask applying unit(108) applies a mask by specific body portion to the extracted candidate interest region. The candidate mask applying unit selects a candidate group mask of the specific body portion.
