PURPOSE: A division method of a display area for a local dimming and a liquid crystal display device using the same and driving method thereof are provided to minimize the error of local diming block and a analysis area by distributing surplus pixels in analysis areas as many as the surplus pixels respectively. ;CONSTITUTION: In a division method of a display area for a local dimming and a liquid crystal display device using the same and driving method thereof, a backlight unit projects a light. A liquid crystal panel(28) displays an image by using the light from the backlight unit. A local dimming driver(12) analyzes data at the analysis areas by using the information of the analysis area. The local dimming driver modulates at analysis areas according to the analyzed result.
