PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting idle frequency band and a method thereof are provided to detect idle frequency band by combining detection results of a plurality of unlicensed wireless communication terminals. ;CONSTITUTION: A communication device group comprises a plurality of unlicensed wireless communication devices(CR1-CR5) which compares a received signal level with a reference signal level. A master device forms a network which is previously established with the communication device group. The master communication device compares the signal level of the licensed wireless communication device with the reference signal level. The master communication device determines the channel use of the licensed wireless communication device based on the comparison result.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
