PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for cutting off standby power consumption are provided to automatically supply or cut off standby power by connecting a standby power automatic open and close mean to a terminal contact hole.;CONSTITUTION: An outlet member(1) is formed on a terminal hole. An output terminal(31) is inserted and seceded from the terminal hole. In standby power state, current is detected from a consent part terminal. A power supply is performed through an automatic switching. If a current flow is not detected for a predetermined time, an automatic standby power supply/cutoff unit cuts off the power supply.
