PURPOSE: A stabilization apparatus of a monitoring system for a ship using an angular speed sensor and a method thereof are provided to maintain an orientation angle for a mark of a camera regardless of a six-degree of freedom motion by compensating for a six-degree of freedom motion of a ship in real time and keeping the azimuth of a camera for balancing and yawing of a pedestal. ;CONSTITUTION: A stabilization apparatus of a monitoring system for a ship using an angular speed sensor comprises: a 3-axis angular speed sensor module(5) measuring a rotational motion component of a pedestal; an azimuth and altitude sensor unit(3) measuring the azimuth and altitude of a pedestal; a digital/analog conversion unit(6) converting a signal including the rotational motion component of a pedestal provided from the 3-axis angular speed sensor module into a digital signal; an axis coordinate transformation unit(7) converting the rotational motion component of a pedestal provided from the analog/digital conversion unit into an azimuth angle and an elevation angle which are a 2-axis rotational component; a subtracter(1) subtracting data on the azimuth angle and the elevation angle provided from the azimuth and altitude sensor unit, and the azimuth angle and the elevation angle provided from the axis component conversion unit; and a control unit(2) generating an azimuth motor control signal and an elevation angle motor control signal corresponding to the data on the azimuth angle and the elevation angle provided to the subtracter.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
