PURPOSE: A data restoring device and method for network coding are provided to restore original data by multiplying selected one row of an encoded data matrix with one selected row of an inverse matrix of an encoding matrix. ;CONSTITUTION: A packet storing unit(110) includes a first memory(111), a second memory(112), and a data distributing unit(113). The packet storing unit receives a data packet from the outside and stores the data packet. An encoding matrix converting unit(120) transfers a received encoding matrix to an operation allocation unit(140) by a row unit. The operation allocation unit allocates an encoding matrix of a row unit to an arithmetic-logic operating unit(150) by each element. The arithmetic-logic operating unit operates an inverse encoding matrix by a Gauss-Jordan elimination method.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
