PURPOSE: A light emitting diode including electrode pads is provided to prevent a current from being concentrated around a second electrode pad by locating a second electrode pad on a first conductive semiconductor layer or substrate. ;CONSTITUTION: An insulation layer is interposed between a first conductive semiconductor layer and a second electrode pad. The insulation layer electrically insulates a second electrode pad(53) from the first conductive semiconductor layer. A lower extension unit(55b) is electrically connected to the first conductive semiconductor layer via a first electrode pad(55). An upper extension unit(53a) is electrically connected to the second semiconductor layer via a second electrode pad.
