PURPOSE: An automatic focusing control apparatus and method thereof are provided to implement accurate focus detection and to increase the reliability of a subject face.;CONSTITUTION: A photographing unit generates an image signal by inputting an image light from a subject. A face detecting unit detects a face area from the image signal(S501). A first determining unit determines a condition about the size of the face.
