PURPOSE: The fabrication of nanoporous carbon fiber using the floor carpet scrap of a vehicle is provided to effectively eliminate volatile organic compounds and form aldehyde using the floor carpet scrap and nanosilica sol.;CONSTITUTION: A fiber silica composite is prepared by mixing the floor carpet scrap of a vehicle and an inorganic sol in which nanosilica is uniformly distributed. Resin-silica is prepared by uniformly coating fiber on the surface of the nanosilica. The fiber is a polymer resin. The resin-silica is a carbon fiber precursor. The resin-silica is carbonized, and silica materials are eliminated to obtain nanoporous carbon fiber which effectively eliminates volatile organic compounds. An amphoteric compound catalyst is coated on the nanoporous carbon fiber in order to effectively eliminate formaldehyde.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
