PURPOSE: A terminal composition carrier activation method in a cellular wireless communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to accurately calculate the initial transmission power of a data channel, thereby providing quick and precise scheduling operation.;CONSTITUTION: A downlink(DL) component carrier(CC)1 and an uplink(UL) CC1 are activated in an n-th sub frame. The DL CC1 and UL CC1 are deactivated in the n-th sub frame. Data and control signal transmission is performed between the DL CC1 and UL CC1(413). The data and control signal transmission is not performed between a DL CC2 and an UL CC2. A base station transmits uplink scheduling information to a terminal(415). The terminal receives the uplink scheduling information with respect to an arbitrary uplink composition carrier from the base station. The terminal determines the activation of a downlink composition carrier interconnected with the uplink composition carrier.
