PURPOSE: A dial gauge measuring method and an apparatus thereof are provided to prevent the generation of an error due to manually of an operator and an expensive cost by digitally measuring the cross point with the long needle of a dial gauge and scale.;CONSTITUTION: A dial gauge measuring apparatus(101) comprises an image photographing portion(103), a step motor(105), an encoder(107) and a measurement server(109). The image photographing portion takes a photograph of the image of a dial gauge. The step motor transfers the location of the long needle of a dial gauge. The encoder outputs the pulse value according to the rotation quantity of the step motor generating in the movement of the long needle.
