PURPOSE: A washing and dewatering apparatus for a mop is provided to always stop the rotation of a dewatering container by stopping the driving of a motor if the closing sensor does not operate.;CONSTITUTION: A washing and dewatering apparatus for a mop comprises a main body(10), a cover member(14) and a detecting sensor. The top of the main body is opened and is divided with a dewatering container and a storing tank(13) through a partition wall. The bottom of a dewatering container is made of an automatic dewatering structure according to the fastening of a motor. The cover member is hinge-coupled in the top of dewatering container.
