An implantable hearing aid hearing-impaired alarm system for a specific device is equipped with a device that detects an alarm condition and , a transmitter that is tuned to the resonant frequency of an implanted passive energy portion of a cochlear implant or similar device . Upon detection of an alarm condition , the transmitter transmits an alarm signal at a resonant frequency , and the resonance in the implantable device even in the absence of the externally worn hearing assistive portion . Resonance is detected as a buzzing noise or other abnormality by deaf people , and warning alarms for the hearing impaired state .
