PURPOSE: A motor cooling structure of a vacuum cleaner for both wet and dry cleaning is provided to prevent lowering of performance of the motor from overheating by blowing external air to the motor with a cooling fan in the lower part of the motor in sucking water and cleaning and efficiently cooling the motor. CONSTITUTION: A motor cooling structure of a vacuum cleaner having a motor, a blower fan sucking air axially and discharging air circumferentially in rotating the motor, a case containing the motor and the blower fan and a fan/motor assembly(20) generating suction force in the body of the vacuum cleaner is composed of a housing(50) in which the fan/motor assembly is installed vertically to place the blower fan in the upper part and the upper part is opened, a cooling fan axially combined with the motor and rotated to blow air to the motor, an inlet(55) communicated with the outside of the body in the lower part of the housing to guide external air to the housing in operating the cooling fan, and an exhaust port(56) formed in the side wall corresponding to the motor of the housing to discharge air from the cooling fan.
